Hi Jay,

By structure, I was referring to the curricular constraints instituted by
the program as they are described in the NYT article.

Our work is limited only to the description of some play episodes as they
unfolded in the classroom among children and their teachers.  We wanted to
show that spontaneous play entails teaching/learning.  Of course, that too
has a structure of its own.
