And your nomination is (I can forward it).
:-)
The question of what we find especially important, "landmark" research is
an interesting one.
My own quick first choice went to Sheriff and Sheriff and the Robbers Cave
experiment but it is too old!!
Which probably says something about the person who had the idea. :-))

To: "cogdevsoc@virginia.edu" <cogdevsoc@virginia.edu>
Dear Colleagues,
I am conducting a research study to identify the top studies published in
the last 50 years in the field of child psychology, broadly defined. I
would like to identify studies that significantly impacted the field of
child psychology in one of four ways: 1) by revolutionizing it, 2) by being
fascinating, 3) by being controversial, or 4) by simply being important.
However, rather than using h-factors, impact factors, or citation
frequencies, I want to use the personal/professional opinions of scientists
in the field. This is where you come in. I would like to recruit you to
participate in my study.
I am conducting the study in two phases. In Phase 1, which is going on
now, I am seeking nominations of studies that scientists in the field
believe should be considered top studies in one of the four categories. In
Phase 2, I will ask scientists to rank order the studies identified in
Phase 1.
If you are interested in nominating studies that you believe should be
included among the top studies in the field, please visit my survey site at:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/toparticles
Thanks for your consideration.
This study has been reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board
at East Tennessee State University. Please email me directly at
dixonw@etsu.edu if you have any questions.
Best regards,
Wallace Dixon
