Valsiner and Van der Veer spoke about "Perezhivanie" proximity to "Erlebnis" in German generally. Dorothy Robbins is professor of German. Mike and others know Russian much better than I. Then... But this past can be nearest too? Is there something like an "everyday opyt"? I have seen some samples in dictionaries and it appears something like житейский опыт — knowledge of life; опыт войны — experience of war; боевой опыт — battle experience; убедиться на опыте — know* by experience. Even not with a methodological status like "perezhivanie", only this samples leads me to understand that seems to be a very relevant process too, but in our translations here in Brazil there is no difference between the too terms. Another question to you and our colleagues. If we translate perezhivanie as "emotional experience" don't we find problems with Vygotsky's terms like «эмоциональные переживания» (emotsional'nye perezhivaniya), present in "Psychology of Art", for instance?
