I'm on sabbatical leave this year, working on two projects: a book on
becoming a dialogic teacher and a fairly extensive report on an
experimental interdisciplinary first-year program we began here last
year (for more information, check my home page under "Aquinas
Programme," or send me email). I'm looking for chances to travel
around and talk about these issues, and thereby give myself some
deadlines.
In real life, I teach English at a small liberal arts university in
eastern Canada. I was trained in eighteenth century literature and
in literary theory, but I'm more interested these days in language
learning, literacy as a tool for thinking and learning, pedagogy, and
computer-mediated communication as related to all of those things.
I've been on the lists based in the LCHC since 1988, and they've
been a constant source of challenge and renewal. I hope this new
structure works as well as the old one did.
