Phillip White has been an elementary school teacher for the last
twenty five years. He has taught all grade levels from kindergarten to
sixth. At present he is the Literacy Resource teacher for Cotton Creek
Elementary School, Westminster, Colorado. His job is to work with
individual primary students who need intervention in mastering reading
and writing, provide the faculty with training and modeling in reading
and writing theory and teaching strategies, and provide parent support.
His present primary emphasis is working with and training the faculty to
utilize classroom-based research to inform their teaching strategies.
Phillip is also in a doctoral program at the University of
Colorado @ Denver, School of Education, Department of Language, Literary
and Culture, with a present focus of investigating how the folk
psychology of elementary school teachers is constructed.
His master's degree is in Reading, Writing and E.S.L.
