I thought some might find this resource useful. This is all freeware (not
shareware) and many are pretty decent programs. There are geared toward
kids in the age group of 1-100.

One in particular that caught my attention was "gamemaker" which allows kids
to add to and create their own games without programming skills. The base
games include packman, breakout, among others in which kids can create their
own backgound, and objects to embed in the game.

For those not familar with "freeware" its as the name says - free - unlike
shareware that tends to be a big pain. I only mention this because the
games appear to be of good quality and manageably downloadable(1MG).
