As Katherine noted, I'd love to hear of any papers that come of your work
as it progresses, or also, any resources about integrated analyses from
either of you, or anyone else on the list.
My dissertation project addresses some similar issues, although not on as broad a
scale as Martin's work. I'm studying the construction of community in an
high school program (a classroom study, in a school-within a school, but
attempting to articulate individual and institutional perspectives and relations within the
activity) that is intended for "middle level students" (there's an
interesting category), and that draws support from local businesses and
is linked in a complex way to both job training, technology goals in
schooling, and general education.
