Judy,
I liked your response about anger. In Reggio Emilia, Italy, a teacher in
one of the now famous preschools said she felt Americans do not argue
enough. She and a colleague taught together for many years but decided they
should separate because they did not argue any more! I found this
refreshing.I realize this is not necessarily about anger but its a cousin.
Our response to anger is informed by our histories, our cultures, our
families. It frightens some people more than others. I feel the same way
about expressions of grief and the need for children to see adults
(including teachers) expressing strong emotions.
