So would I (like to hear more about this sort of work). One of
the remarkable experiments in _Distinction_ is the juxtaposition
of the statistically analyzed survey data (cf. epidemiology) with
interview accounts that show how the phenomena are articulated
discursively (and presumably to some degree enacted) by individuals.
I was always disappointed however that Bourdieu pretty much leaves
the making of connections between these two sorts of data up to
the reader. He does not go on to do any close discourse analysis
of the interview accounts, or use them to generate new or modify prior
conclusions from the survey data. JAY.
