I have frequently seen the goals of collaborative problem solving
change--sometimes in line with one partner, sometimes in line with the
other (depending upon whose hands are on the helm) and sometimes with the
goals of one being incorporated by the other.
I have written about this in several places but two are my chapter (with
Jean McPhail) in the Contexts of Learning book and my article (with Jorge
Larreamendy-Joerns) in the most recent issue of Cognition and Instruction.
