Mike, I'm sending below 39 refs taken from my dissertation's bibliography.
Most of the refs. are works in the anthropological, ethnographic,
and classroom discourse analysis traditions. They largely deal with the
issue of cultural compatibility: of school culture and the cultures students
have come from. Many of the works are also results of the Kamehameha
Early Education Project (KEEP). I've learnt about many of them from other
fellow xmca'ers in the past year (thanks to our helpful fellow xmca'ers!).
