One might also say that higher SES classrooms are about
learning one's own culture, and that lower SES ones are about
learning an alien culture, and that not often voluntarily.

Is it so surprising that implicit styles of teaching are
successful in the first case, and that resort to more explicit,
dogmatic, and authoritarian ones results in the second case?
