I have had some backstage reassurance from Gary Shank, in addition to what
Nate and Jay gave in public, so I will ask no further questions. I also had
a very good suggestion from Jay, in another backstage exchange, about
working to increase the international participation, perhaps even
re-instituting old xlist practices of having postings in other languages
than English.
Applying an old linguistic pun to the multicategorization of individuals:
CROSSING BOUNDARIES may be dangerous
meaning, then that as individuals we are, perhaps this very specific
crossing of many different boundaries that intersect within each one of
us. Certainly a risky business
AND
concerning those boundaries that are not within us but without -- cultural
and cognitive and... boundaries that we cross in our lifetime. THAT is a
risky business if any, isn't it.
