Free webinar, March 21 – "Is Consciousness Really Epiphenomenal?"

Consciousness has been cast by philosophers, neurologists, and neuroscientists as epiphenomenal. Join<http://s2138.t.en25.com/e/er?channel=Eloqua&elq_mid=5469&elq_cid=453618&s=2138&lid=11702&elq=81da5460013f4ab6bafb00eec7dd7115> John Cacioppo and we will show this conclusion is based on the analysis of consciousness in the context of the individual human brain.

When: Thursday, March 21, 2013
Time: 2:00 p.m. EDT / 11:00 a.m. PDT

What will be covered

John Cacioppo will discuss why the premise of social neuroscience is that the study of the human brain is incomplete when treated as a solitary organ. When the brain is viewed within a social context – that is, within the context of interacting brains – the deterministic, material mechanism by which consciousness plays a role in subsequent brain states is revealed.
