The Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of Georgia seeks a clinical assistant professor specializing in TESOL in K-12 school settings. The position begins in August 2012.

Qualifications: A doctorate in TESOL, bilingual education, applied linguistics, second language acquisition, or related field by July 2012 is required. Candidates must have K-12 experience, on-line teaching experience, and interest in school-community partnerships. Strong candidates will have administrative experience in teacher certification programs, and expertise in one or more of the following areas: assessment; teaching methods in early second/world/heritage language education; and instructing linguistically and culturally diverse learners. Demonstrated proficiency in a language other than English is preferred

Responsibilities: Duties include starting up and coordinating a TESOL teacher certification program, teaching online undergraduate and graduate courses, advising and supervising graduate students, supervising student teachers, collaborating in the development of an innovative and interdisciplinary TESOL and World Language Education certification program.
