My thoughts are that even though people who use these
Jungian archetypes believes they are there from birth, they
really cannot know that. LSV's description of the crises at
years 0, 1 and 3 years, it seems to me, leave open the
possibility that there may be more than one *way* these
crises are resolved - oherwise they wouldn't be crises would
they? Winnicott saw successful or problematic passage
through the weaning crisis as producing personality types,
and it just seemed to me that passage through crises in
general might be connected with personality formation. But
as usual I have speculations and no facts.
