I think one immediate solution is to write the posts directly in the Babelfish screen, copy, and paste to the email window, push the "traducir" button and the copy and paste that to the email window.
But I notice that Babelfish is messing up the accents going to Spanish from English, the word "logic" for example came out looking like a curse word in a comic strip -- maybe it is?
This process is certainly an example of changing the instrument when the nature of the object is changed, under pressure from tertiary contradictions, n'est-ce pas? No guarantee of anything though.
I have a great example of the sinister consequences of the dominance of English right here in the central Andean highlands. The master's students in public health all work with people who speak Quechua, some of them work primarily with Quechua speakers but all of them encounter the need to speak and understand the language on a daily basis. Sort of like the need for Spanish in southern California. Only about 25% of the students know it -- but do they teach it as part of the masters' curriculum? Well, as John Belushi would say, noooooooooooooooo! They instead take 5 courses in English. The reason is obvious, the consequences fatal for the people whose health they are responsible for.
