Hi Tony. Assuming there is interest in this topic beyond a few WMDs
(White Male Derelicts) who have responded, I think we could be as
exclusive or inclusive as we collectively wanted in addressing the
issue. I think a little dose of semiotics might also be appropriate.

Mike, the CID was comprehensive to doctorates in all disciplines. There
are certainly unique issues in specific disciplines and we could either
address those or exclude them if they do not fit our chosen context(s).

But I'm, just making this all up as I type. What do others think?

Interesting idea, Don.

While we're at this, I'm wondering about Legitimate Peripheral
Participation (LPP) in Communities of Practice (CoP) as a related
framework (i.e., Lave, Wenger, et al.).

CoP theory seems more immediately obvious as a framework for design for
doctoral preparation; but CoP & CHAT seem compatable, overlapping, etc.
but not identical. Don, your suggestion could provide a concrete focus
for
exploring the relationships between these frameworks.
