There is plenty of everyday talk when children are off task; some of the on task language might look like everyday language, but when embedded in a co-operative or collaborative task, it has a different function, and so should be treated as such.

Thank you for the reference, I will see if it can be be helpful. At this point I am trying to narrow down my focus so it specifically looks at either classroom skills that transfer to everyday or a way of quantifying everyday skills in the classroom.
