If a symposium is organized and Boris Elkonin is the person who needs to
be there I believe money could be found to bring him. But first and foremost
the work of organizing the symposium must be done.

Mike--
I believe that an International Symposium on cultural-historical psychology
and activity theory as toolkit in transformation of educational practices is
an important and interesting endeavor. Obviously the work of organizing the
symposium is a priority and please let me know if I can be of any help. The
possibility of financial support is great news. Boris Elkonin's last book
"Psychology of Culture" develops the tradition of cultural-historical
psychology, but at the same time he works now with two schools in the country
School "Univesum" (Krasnoyarsk, principal Isak Frumin) with more than ten
years of consistent research in Developmental Education and psychology of age
and School "Eureka-Development" (Tomsk, research director Tatyana Kovaleva)
where Developmental Education is one of the conceptual approaches. Frumin was
Elkonin's co-author in a couple of publications.I worked closely for many
years with those schools too and believe that their philosophy and forms of
educational activity will be of great interest for both educators and
psychologists.
