Tools of the Mind is another book that has been used for teacher
education. There is also a film out there by Davidson Films I
beileve that a pretty good intro to Vygotsky and the ZPD.

Also for a good intro as a web slideshow check out url below.
Theres is also one of Piaget if ones interested in that kind of
stuff.
