Following up on Katherine Goff's comment on 'gender crossing', I should
like to mention an excellent book that does look more directly at these
issues in a primary classroom.

Gallas, Karen. (1998). "Sometimes I Can Be Anything": Power, gender
and identity in a primary classroom. New York: Teachers College
Press.

The book is reviewed by Zoe Donoahue in the first issue of Networks
