The Department of Communication at SUNY=92s University at Albany seeks
applications for a tenureable faculty position at the rank of associate
professor in the area of intercultral communication on the interpersonal
level, contingent on final budgetary approval. Applications are especially
welcome from persons with experience in ethnographic methods and a record
of relevant scholarship. The successful candidate is expected to have
attained professional recognition for his or her accomplishments and to
have exhibited the capacity to provide leadership and to serve as a role
model for grad students and colleagues. The successful applicant must have
the Ph.D. and credentials as a scholar and teacher that meet the criteria
for tenure at a research university. =20

the SUNY system of 32 colleges and universities. The University is located
in its own green space in the capital city of New York State, one of a
triangle of small cities and interconnecting villages and suburbs near the
Massachusetts and Vermont borders. The Albany area includes two nationally
