Kevin Leander, mostly a lurker but really enjoy being a part of this
community.
Doctoral student in Education, University of Illinois.
I'm a former high school teacher (English mostly, and French) and returned
to graduate school to give some more thought to writing in school. My
interests in writing led to broad interests in discourse practices in (and
out) of classrooms, including the mediation of various technologies. For
my dissertation I'm trying to understand the relations/development of
heterogeneous communities in a school program, using CHAT as well as space
theory.
Speaking of space, I think this collective self-representation of a
classroom, with participants raising hands, sitting in the back, etc., is
pretty darned interesting.
Thanks,
Kevin
