I've already booked a hotel room, but I didn't learn until later
that a bed and breakfast place would have been much cheaper. You can call
the Danish Tourist Board in New York at 212-949-2333 and ask for a list of
bed and breakfast places. There is also a website http://www.bbdk.dk where
you can make a reservation through their system for US $14. Another
alternative is a youth hostel. From what I read, you don't have to be young
(You can define that one yourself!) to stay at them. This is my first trip
to Europe. After nine years in Japan, I thought Japan outrageously priced,
but Denmark stands shoulder to shoulder with them. Look out for the 25% VAT
tax. I'll be flying to Copenhagen, then taking the train to Arhus, which is
a four hour ride.
Despite the prices I look forward to this conference.
