I am forwarding this note to this group 'cause with all the physicists
and mathematicians in the crowd, I thought perhaps this colleague could
get some usefull information. :-)

Hello Professor Cole,
I am working on some ideas for a book about Quantum Theory and
have come across your name in books about the ideas of Vygotsky.
As I am sure you know, most mathematicians are (if pressed)
neo-Platonists about the nature of mathematical knowledge.
Most modern theoretical physicists are (again, if pressed, since
most have no well-developed opinions in philosophy) of a rather
positivist bent. I am keen to dispute these "positions" particularly
since, in concert, they have wrecked a realistic interpretation of
quantum theory.

I am contacting you in case you know of any researchers or scholars
who are looking at concept formation, the "generation" of logic
etc. in this kind of area. I have found the reports of the
work of Luria on illiterate cultures in central asia particularly
fascinating and useful here.

I suppose what I am saying here is "point me in the right direction
please" if you can.
Regards
Dave Cook
