My name is Mari Haneda, a doctoral student specializing in second language
education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. I am
intereted in exploring the following topics among other things: how various
forms of interaction in the classroom influence learning, paricularly L2
learning; how knowledge is being constructed in the classroom; and how
sociocultural and other contexual variables at a macro level interrelate to
linguistic representations at a micro level. I have taken courses with
Gordon Wells at OISE this past year and have developed keen interests in
sociocultural theory.
