Mike Yeats (PhD) is research coordinator and lecturer in Anthropology, Sociology, and Research Methods at the Occupational Therapy Department, Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin, New Zealand.

Major research interests are:
*Theory and practice of qualitative research - especially ethnography
*Medical anthropology/sociology - focus on unorthodox medical subcultures (MA thesis was on Naturopathy in New Zealand)
*The cultural construction of sexuality - focus on socio-political responses to sexual diversities (PhD thesis was an ethnography of New Zealand produced pornography)
