I received my Ph.D. from the City University of New York, where
Joe Glick was my mentor. Consequently, Heinz Werner might figure more
prominently for me than for most of you out there. My concerns are
socio-cultural, and include work on the subjective meaning of cultural
symbols. I also have a good bit of practical experience with urban
education and educational reform efforts in New York City and Newark,
NJ. This fall I started a position as Assistant Professor and Director
of Research and Professional Development for the Human Development
Laboratory School. I am currently doing preliminary work for an
observational study of emotion in preschool classrooms.
