My name is Beth Graue and I'm an Assistant Professor in the Department of
Curriculum & Instruction at University of Wisconsin-Madison. My major
areas of interest are early childhood education and qualitative research
methodology. I've explored the use of activity theory to interpret
construction of cultural meanings--in particular, the construction of
meanings of readiness for kindergarten in diverse school communities. In
addition, I've been reading a fair amount of Bakhtin lately to theorize
shared ideas about schooling among parents, teachers, and students. I've
been a member of this listserv in its earlier incarnation and look forward
to the conversations.
