I am an Assistant Professor of Psychology at
Wheelock College in Boston. I am a developmental
psychologist with research interests in the
intellectual, social, and institutional history of
psychology. Topics of publication have included:
James Mark Baldwin, John Dewey, the role of
philanthropy in the child development movement,
the history of child care, proposals for a "second"
psychology with Sheldon White, early visions and
realizations of child psychology as illustrated by the
history of the Society for Research in Child
Development. I enjoy this list primarily because it
is sensitive to history and cultural context for
understanding both children and child psychology.
