I got my main education in psychology at the University of Belgrade, Dept.
of Psychology (M.A., 1978) and at the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate
School of Education: program in the Interdisciplinary Human Development,
(Ph.D.,1989).
My scholarly interests are in the development of meaning (language and other
symbolic means of communication), creativity and cognition, play and drama
in education, and construction and interactions between different types of
reality.
My basic theoretical orientation is inspired and grounded in Vygotsky's and
Lewin's theories, as well as Bakhtin's (Voloshinov) work.
I have done an extensive research on the development of metaphor in children
(my unpublished Ph.D. thesis: "Metaphor Beyond Play: Development of Metaphor
in Children").

Currently, I work for the
City of Philadelphia - Department of Public Health
Office of Mental Health/Mental Retardation

I am also an editor of a small newsletter by the Society for the Advancement
of Field Theory (SAFT) - The SAFT Newsletter
