My name is Ilda Carreiro King and I am a fourth year
doctoral student in the Department of Developmental and
Educational Psychology at Boston College. I have completed
my course work and am gearing up for forthcoming
comprehensive exams next month after which I will be ABD.
My interests are in designing and implementing diversified
approaches to assessment that flow from classroom to
accountability measures and are tied toward standards within
domains rather than ranking individuals or situating them on
a curve. . Specifically, I would like to work on
broadening the spectrum of assessment tools used by teachers
to enhance the possibility of finding and addressing student
strengths ( particularly in diverse populations ). I would
also like to work toward reconceptualizing assessment as a
tool to enhance personal growth and development, which in
turn fosters skills for lifelong learning.
I previously participated on xlchc and xedu and am returning after
a hiatus. Thank you.
