Greetings! I am Don Cunningham, member of the Department of
Counsleing & Educational Psychology at Indiana University, Bloomington,
Indiana, USA. I also have joint appointments in Cognitive Science and
Semiotic Studies, a rather unique combination I think. My interests include
the development of semiotic models of cognition and their application
to education as well as a near addiction to playing with computers
as a means to embody my ideas. My heroes are C. S. Peirce, Umberto Eco,
Roland Barthes, Humberto Maturana, Lev Vygotsky and Paulo Freire. I never
cease to be intrigued, stimulated, provoked and energized from reading and
rereading these people. My current research is in the development of
multimedia systems in teacher education, in literacy development,
and in everyday reasoning. As a former member of xlchc, I look forward
to reestablishing contact........djc
