Dear All,

Tony was kind enough to pass this chapter along and save my student  
the burden - after getting through a few more project meetings today,  
I'd like to add to the discussion based on my lecture notes from class  
two weeks ago where we covered this reading...

On a related note, the International Conference of the Learning  
Sciences (ICLS) 2010 CfP has been issued, with a deadline of Oct 30,  
2009) - was wondering if anyone on the list would be interested in  
composing a proposal for a symposium...

Symposia Submission Details:
Length: No longer than 8 pages.
Content: A clear description should be provided of: (a) the overall  
focus of the symposium, (b) major issues addressed by the collective  
work, (c) potential significance of the contributions, and (d) how the  
collective presentations fit together. Separate brief descriptions of  
the content of each presentation should be included in the 8 page total.
Review: Not blind review (presenters should be named)
Presentation: 90 minutes for the full symposium.
Format: May include 3 to 4 paper presentations with a discussant, or 6  
to 8 posters with a discussant; alternately, demonstrations and other  
creative formats are encouraged, as appropriate to represent the  
research. Symposium proposals must nominate a discussant and  
chairperson. The symposium organizer must ensure prior agreement for  
participation by all parties.
