Shirley,
I teach a doctoral level course in the Department of Educational Theory,
Policy, and Practice at Louisiana State University titled Education and
Cognition. About 1/3 of the course is devoted to the metaphor of
learning as enculturation, with Vygotsky being the key theorist in that
portion.

I teach an undergraduate course on communication and the person that
uses a
lot of
cultural historical work, an intro graduate course that does the same
thing,
and a graduate theory course on "mediational theories of mind." A lot
of
LSV gets into my
course on culture and human development.
