I am a part-time PhD student in Australia researching in the area of
Education
I am interested in investigating Activity theory in relation to
education - in particular a junior secondary History class. I have done
quite a bit of linguistic analysis on my data and am drawing very much
on neo-Vygotsian approaches to teaching and learing. I would like to
broaden my discussion to consider the classroom as a site of activity.
I have read Engestrom's 1999 book and found it very helpful. I was
hoping someone might know of readings in Activity theory that relate
specifically to the teaching of History. I have read the chapter by
Hedegaard in Engestrom's book.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
