incomplete understanding

Somewhere in Kundera's *Book of Laughter and Forgetting" Pascal is
quoted as saying that life is lived between the infinitely large and
infinitely small. Ditto for "totally shared" and "totally not shared."
I have always thought that people focusing on failures of communication
misses the big point that ANY communication seems like a miracle. Like
Bill, I found Eugene's paper interesting for getting me to think more/
better about that issue.
