Hello xmca'ers and members of the Cultural-Historical SIG:

Some time late last spring and in the summer, we used xedu to discuss matters
relating to the cultural-historical interest group of the American
Educational Research Association. All
those who are part of xmca are invited to join the SIG, which has dues of $5
per year. Many of the spots for symposia and roundtables that participants
in xmca discussions take are from "SIG-designated" slots on the AERA
conference program, and the number of slots the SIG gets depends on its
membership. (Just a small membership drive :-)).

In any case, the SIG now has a place on the home page of AERA, whose address
is:

http://tikkun.ed.asu.edu/aera/home.html

Follow the directions to the gopher servers for SIGs, and you will find us
there. We can update that with more information on the upcoming conference
in NY or more info on xmca or our SIG's symposia, business meetings, etc. if
we like. You can direct questions or suggestions to me, and I'll try to do
the best I can!

Bill Penuel
(Vice President, Cultural-Historical SIG)
