Re: [xmca] Re: Master's program based on CHAT



I saw this string after posting a couple of notes about what seemed
similar efforts/intuitions.

It seems that perhaps we should create a google groups for discussion
among those most interested in order not to overburden XMCA people who are
not interested, while reporting back when there is something to report.

The issues of credits/costs perplex me. My basic idea was that this would be
free. We might give a certificate of participation collectively, but beyond
that, I thought that those who are colleges/universities/etc who wanted
their students to participate would do so as a part of LOCAL classes with
local costs, local credits, etc.

>From your collective experience, is that naive? Lois, what finances are
involved in your case? I have no difficulty imagining UCSD cooperating with
SFU and others, but once admins get into it, I shudder to think of the
consequences.
