As an integral member of your campus community, you have a unique vantage
point to observe the interaction between faculty and students. You know
first-hand the educators at your campus who have an extraordinary dedication
to undergraduate teaching.

Recognizing outstanding educators on your campus through the U.S. Professors
of the Year program can help strengthen interest in your academic programs
and build public support for your institution.

*Other key benefits include:*

   - State and national winners, along with their respective institutions,
   are featured in ads in the *Chronicle of Higher Education *and in
   national, regional and local news articles across the country. *USA Today
   *and the *Chronicle* have run articles about the program and award
   winners for the past 10 years.
   - State and national winners are honored at an awards luncheon and
   evening reception in Washington, D.C. Senators and congressional members are
   invited to meet and congratulate winners from their states.
   - Numerous opportunities exist to focus special attention on your faculty
   and institution, including feature articles in alumni periodicals, annual
   reports and fundraising materials.

Nominations will be accepted through *April 17, 2009*. Institutions can
nominate up to three professors.

Sponsored by The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and
administered by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, this
prestigious award is the only national initiative designed to recognize
excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
