I read the Yaroshevsky study of Vygotsky a long time ago (someone gave me
a copy), and I loved it! I'm wondering if anyone on the xmca network
knows this scholar. Is it possible to invite him/her to one of our
upcoming conferences? It strikes me that the Yaroshevsky book brings out
aspects of Vygotsky's work that are not always emphasized in North
American contexts, and it might be nice to have this type of work
emphasized more (though one speaker at the Sociocultural Conference in
Geneva, Prof. Ivanov, seemed to highlight how V's work was integrated
with metaphors drawn from studies of drama, the arts, etc.).
