Magical Dimension

The Magical Dimension project, which ran in an elementary school After school hours, was an application of the Fifth Dimension "design experiment" which drew on the artifacts and human resources of the original Fifth Dimension project, La Clase Magica, and other Fifth Dimension applications to construct a multilingual, informal learning environment serving diverse children with very diverse educational needs. Development of the Magical Dimension coincided with and was related to the development of the Coalition. The Magical Dimension project, a collaborative effort of a school district, a Boys and Girls Club, and UCSD, ended in June 1999. The partners continue their collaboration in the form of a school-supported homework club that runs at the Boys and Girls Club and is coordinated with UCSD's Fifth Dimension project.
