Though not really foregrounded in this way, this topic is addressed by
Karen Gallas in The Languages of Learning (Teachers College Press). She is
very attentive to her students' emotional states and how they affect their
conduct in school, including their relationships with their teachers (e.g.,
she devotes a chapter to "bad boys").
