Mike, In Freire's latest book, Teachers as Cultural Workers: Letters to
Those Who Dare Teach (1998) Westview Press, he discusses the artificial
dichotomization of theory and practice, heart and mind, teaching and
learning. I highly recommend it. Although he has died, this is still not
his last book. I spoke with Donaldo Macedo yesterday and he is just
finishing up "Ideology Matters" which he co-authored with Paulo. My
connection with emotion and Paulo is through his humanizing pedagogy. He
also wrote a book entitled "Pedagogy of the Heart" which is outstanding as
well. Hope this is helpful. I'm enjoying the interaction on the list.
