I like "the quiet corners of mediation," here.

One can look at what is in those quiet corners, at least according to Engestrom. On the one hand, history and how it changes as we live through it (and change it ourselves); on the other hand, what kinds of tools or equipment we've got to work with (and how those change as we get creative). Finally, who is with us.
