The Department of Psychology is seeking a full time Research Associate for
two years to work with Dr Harriet Over on a project entitled ‘Cultural
transmission of prejudice’.*  *The project will use methods from the study
of cultural transmission (diffusion chain experiments) in order to test how
children (aged between 3 and 8) learn and communicate information about
social groups.

The post will involve testing in schools and nurseries as well as authoring
publications on the topics of cultural transmission and intergroup
cognition and behaviour.

You should have a PhD (or nearly completed PhD) in experimental psychology
and experience working with children.  Experience publishing in high
profile, peer-reviewed journals is desirable.  * *

Salary £29,541 to £36,298 a year*.*

The appointment is available for 24 months starting from the 1st October
2013.

 Appointment of the successful candidate will be conditional on a
Disclosure and Barring Service check.
