Well someone who starts an article and says i will reject Piaget and Vygotsky, obviously he/she hasn't start a serious argument. What i understood by reading it is that his quite familiar with Piaget but not very familiar with Vygotsky, he says somewhere that Vygotskys main theory is social scaffolding as it was the only theoretical problem that Vygotsky studied.. At the end in my opinion he doesnt say something new as he assumes through the whole article, he just rephrase what it has been already writen in that field by citing himself many times of different research projects that he undertook over the years. But i found the problems he tackles about education and the possible solutions he suggests quite interesting.

Someone with greater expertise in education will have to give a more
informed answer Nektarios, but I get the impression from this fellow
that he is a bit of an eccentric system-builder. He was probably very at
home as a government minister, organising and reorganising his
department with the hope that a different result can be produced by
applying a new range of titles. But I have only had a cursory read.
Certainly I found the "critique" of Piaget and Vygotsky very superficial.
what do you think?

It is very well writen and has very valid points but whether the writer rejects Vygotsky or confirms Vygotsky it is not clear to me even if he thinks that his rejecting him. I think that Vygotsky in his Thought and Language says very simillar things with the author. My impression is that the author has more or less rejects Vygotsky without even get to know him well enough (i might even be wrong though and its me that i dont know Vygotsky well) . I am not saying that i know Vygotsky well in level to form a valid opinion about his work, but i think you do know Vygotskys theories quite well thats why i am sending you this article, just to see what do you think about it.
