Project READi is an IES funded project as part of the Reading for Understanding IES network.  The focus of the project is to support students in grades 6 - 12  to read content area texts with understanding and to construct discipline specific arguments (oral and written) by drawing critically across multiple texts.  Content areas include literature, science and history.  Institutional partners include the University of Illinois at Chicago, Northwestern University, Northern Illinois University, West Ed, and Inquirium.
 Dr. Carol D. Lee of the Learning Sciences Program in the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University is seeking a scholar to fill a post doctoral position for the period from July, 2012 to June 2013, with the possibility of a second year renewal.  We seek a candidate with a Ph.D. in Education or the Learning Sciences whose research focus is in the area of adolescent literacy and with experience in high school English Language Arts.
