Re: [xmca] FW: MCA on Thompson Reuters ISI list



I don't think we should personalise any feelings of inferiority.  Firstly,
CHAT practitioners have precious little space to publish in, (3 journals?)
and so good work goes unpublished and good thinker on XMCA get their
academic feelings hurt.  Secondly, we are globally in a "publish or perish"
Catch 22; jobs maybe, but certainly tenure and promotion depend upon this.
 And finally, genuinely new knowledge is extremely difficult to construct.
So, we write run of the mill papers in run of the mill journals and feel bad
about it, but have bread on the table.  Thank goodness we have XMCA where we
can occasionally construct new knowledge. It is a tremendous place to
be--take a bow, Mike.
